DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Parts of northeast and east central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin are under a Winter Storm Warning from Monday morning through Tuesday night.
Accumulations of 10 to 16 inches of snow is expected along with gusty winds, especially near Lake Superior, causing blowing and drifting snow.
The National Weather Service in Duluth says travel could be very difficult to impossible during the storm with snow covered roads and significantly reduced visibility.
The snow will be heavy during the day Monday with a break in the intensity overnight.
A second wave of heavy snow is expected again on Tuesday before diminishing on Tuesday night.
Strong winds will also create wind chill values in the 20 to 30 below range.
